Shieldfield Walks

Wednesday 19 to Sunday 23 June 2019, 10am and 2pm, plus 5pm walk on Saturday and 2:30pm Sunday

A vision for Shieldfield as a garden of Edible Ideas. Can you imagine a neighbourhood of rooftop gardens, vegetable growing, and beekeeping? Where empty spaces, grassed areas, and street corners grow edible crops and livestock. Where food growing is an everyday occurrence visible at every turn? During June, Dr Mikey Tomkins, with your help as active participants, will be leading public walks exploring how the many hidden and public areas of Shieldfield could be transformed to encourage and support local food gardening as a contribution to food security and an improved urban landscape.

The £1.66 ticket price includes a souvenir map of Shieldfield. Bursaries are available – please contact Shieldfield Art Works directly for these.
