Painting for Fun: Summer Exhibition 2026

24th July – 22nd August 2026 // Monday – Thursday // 11am – 4pm & Saturday // 1pm – 4pm
A vibrant exhibition, bringing together an eclectic group of artists united by their love of painting. With subject matter ranging from landscapes, portraits, local scenes and botanical studies, there will be something for everyone.
All the paintings in the exhibition have been produced by class members, and most are available to buy in order to support further the work of Painting for Fun. We also have calendars that are perfect for a gift.
Preview: 24th July // 6pm – 8pm
A chance to come together and see the exhibition on its opening night, drinks and nibbles will be provided.
Film Premiere & SAW Reflects: 9th July // 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Ahead of the exhibition opening, we’ll be exclusively screening the Painting For Fun film – a documentary created by filmmaker Ben Holden and Painting For Fun group members. There will be snacks, drinks and a chance to reflect on the power of creativity and the importance of leisure. Places limited – please email enquiries@saw-newcastle.org to reserve a spot.
