Compassion: expressing suffering and strength

An exhibition of sculptures which express the suffering and strength of humankind, through the lens of the Easter story.

The sculptures show the artist Lya Vollering’s interpretation of pivotal moments within the Easter story. These key moments, called ‘Stations of the cross’ are often depicted in art, theatre and music in order to think about Easter. In this exhibition, Lya uses the story of Jesus’ suffering to think more deeply about how we suffer and experience emotional pain in our own lives, specifically thinking about experiences of abuse.

Exhibition open: 4, 5, 6, 11, 12 April, from 11am-4pm.

SAW Reflects: Wed 5 April, 6.30-8pm. An evening to reflect on and unpack the thinking and theology behind the exhibition. Soup and bread provided.
