SAW Publications

Shieldfield Art Works | June 2019

The SAW publication sets out our manifesto for the future of SAW as well as examining the last nine years as Holy Biscuit. Featuring contributions from our supporters, theologians and artists, the publication contains reflections on where we have come from and sets out a manifesto for future action. Through examining the key themes of hospitality, art & enquiry and community activism via past projects and future hopes, the publication seeks to be honest about the challenges and tensions that we encounter as an organisation, whilst setting out our direction for the future.

Our 112-page publication features contributions from: David Wilkinson, Huw Evans, David McCulloch, Hannah Marsden, Sophie Hope, Lydia Catterall, Julia Heslop, Andrew Wilson, Mikey Tomkins, Phyllis Christopher and the SAW team

The publication will be available to buy at the launch on 7 June and discussion evening on 21 June 2019.

Now and Not Yet | December 2015

Now and not yet v1.5.indd

Now & Not Yet is a high-quality art publication exploring the season of advent through art, writing and prayer. Acting like an Advent calendar, each day features a visual piece and accompanying written response by artists and friends of The Holy Biscuit. Produced to celebrate HB’s 5th birthday, the publication documents some of our work to date and showcases some specially commissioned new works. The book is a beautiful artwork, providing daily moments of quiet through the lens of the arts, as an alternative journey through both Advent and our everyday lives. Although initially intended for Advent, Now & Not Yet was curated so that its lasting message could be enjoyed throughout the year.

You can order a copy by downloading our form. If ordering copies on behalf of a church connected to the Newcastle Central and East Methodist Circuit, please use this form instead.

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
